Get your own little flower pot tea cosy! Decorated with cute crocheted flowers, this knitted cosy is perfect for keeping your tea toasty warm as you work, study, or knit!
This one’s best for a medium to large teapot (6-8 cups). It’s made with 4mm needles (plus a 4mm crochet hook for the flowers), and any DK yarn (around 30g) of your choice!

You will need:
- One pair of knitting needles (4mm)
- Any DK yarn (around 30g)
- Scrap yarn (around 10g)
- One sewing needle
- One pair of scissors
- One 6-cup teapot
Abbreviations:
Knitting:
k = knit
k2tog = knit next 2 stitches together
st(s) = stitch(es)
Crochet: (UK Terms)
ch = chain
ss = slip stitch
tr = treble crochet
dc = double crochet
rep = repeat
st(s) = stitch(es)
Side (make 2):
Cast on 40 sts. Knit 60 rows.
Row 61: k1, k2tog, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1.
Row 62: knit all stitches.
Rows 63–70: Repeat rows 61-62. (30sts.)
Cast off.
Sew up the sides and top, leaving a gap for the handle, lid and spout.
Flower 1 (make 2):
Ch 11, ss in end ch. *Ch 10, ss in same ch as above. Rep from * 3 more times.
Flower 2 (make 2):
Ch 4, ss into end ch to make a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 9dc into ring, ss into ch1 st.
Round 2: *ss into next dc, 3tr into next dc. Rep from * 4 more times. ss into 1st ss.
Flower 3 (make 2):
Ch 4, ss into end ch to make a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 10 dc into the ring, then ss into ch1 st.
Round 2: Ch1, 2dc into each dc, then ss into ch1 st.
Round 3: *ss into next dc, 2tr into next dc, 2tr into next dc, ss into next dc. Rep from * 4 more times.
Sew one set of 3 flowers to each side of the cosy.
